Even at the end of the layout process, details about the job rest in the document itself not in a spec file that can be applied to a future document.
Castoway brings order to the planning process through job management data tracking, pre-design estimating tools, and with the optional CastowayLink, automated page and style sheet generation in QuarkXPress.
An ideal page count estimating tool, Castoway’s built-in standard book styles library offers the designer the chance to try out numerous design specifications prior to diving into an application such as QuarkXPress to do the layout. If no stock style fits, build a new one to your specifications.
Besides calculating and displaying specifications as design scenarios are tried out, design parameters can be saved along with standard job management data and output in the Composition Specification form.
